Dinner Du Nord: Show Off Your Car on Nicollet Mall

Want to be part of a pretty spectacular outdoor dining experience in the heart of downtown Minneapolis — and show off your car at the same time?

Great Northern Region has been invited to participate in Dinner Du Nord, a unique open-air community dinner stretching along Nicollet Mall. As diners gather at a long table through downtown, GNR vehicles will be displayed at intersections along the Mall as part of the evening’s experience.

This isn’t just parking your car and walking away. We’re looking for members who want to hang out with their vehicles, talk cars with curious diners, and tell a few people about Great Northern Region along the way.

• Date: Thursday, September 10, 2026
• Time commitment: 4:00–9:00 p.m.
• Location: Nicollet Mall, downtown Minneapolis
• Cost: Free for participating GNR members
• Vehicle requirement: Bring something you’d enjoy showing off — it does not need to be a classic car
• Food & beverage: Some food and beverages will be provided for participating members

🚘 What We’re Looking For

We need at least six vehicles to make this happen. Participating members should plan to:

• Commit to the full 4:00–9:00 p.m. event window
• Bring your vehicle for display along Nicollet Mall
• Stay with or near your vehicle and be available to chat with diners and visitors
• Share your enthusiasm for cars — and, when the opportunity presents itself, Great Northern Region

Dinner Du Nord transforms Nicollet Mall into an enormous outdoor dining experience, bringing people together for food, drinks and an evening in the heart of Minneapolis. Cars displayed along the route are part of the atmosphere — and this year, Great Northern Region has been invited to join the show.

Public dinner tickets are sold out, but you do not need to purchase a dinner ticket to participate with GNR. Our members are there as invited vehicle participants, and there is no charge to take part.

Because GNR needs to provide enough cars to make our participation work, please register by Friday, August 28 only if you can commit to bringing your vehicle and being available for the full event.

Six cars. Nicollet Mall. One very long dinner table. This should be fun.
